The studio will be open on Saturday August 6 from 11-2pm. Come by and check out the space. In our gallery work by resident artists Jon Gernon and Robert Gullie. *We also have a studio space available for rent currently, come check it out if your interested! The space is 10′ x 11′ x 12′, harwood floors, track lighting, wi-fi, central air, heat & electricity included. Private bathroom and art gallery also. $150. month, 12 month lease + deposit.

Three Part Harmony, Pt. II – A Celebration of Local Food, Wine & Art

On Wednesday January 12 We will host a wine tasting from a NY State winery as part of this event in our Gallery and Studios. Tickets are required, please see below for more info. We are not sure which winery will be in out gallery as of yet.

“Three Part Harmony: PART II
- A Celebration of Local Food, Wine, & Art”

COHOES – Harmony House Marketplace, along with Sticky Fingers and R & G Cheesemakers, will be the hosts of Three-Part Harmony: PART II — A Celebration of Local Food, Wine, & Art, scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12th, at the Harmony House, 184-190 Remsen St. in historic downtown Cohoes.
Well known local chefs will be preparing soups/stews for tasting and pairing their creations with New York State wines and local artists pieces. The Bake Shop at Harmony House will be baking breads to accompany the soups/stews and Sticky Fingers will be serving chocolate soup for dessert.
Participating chefs: Noah Sheetz, executive chef, Governor’s Mansion, Albany; Rebecca Joyner director of dining services, Darrow School and Brock & Co.; Larry Schepici, executive chef, The Brown Derby, Albany; Nicci Cagan, director, From the Ground Up; AJ Jayapal, Miss Sydney’s Condiments and Sauces; Jeff Loshinsky Catering (John Peterson) and Rocco Verrigni from Schenectady County Community College.
*Local favorite Bob Lewandusky, Mr. Perogie, will be on hand with samples of his famous Polish dumplings.
Participating vintners/distributors: Brian from Hudson-Chatham Winery and Marc Lebo from Bear Pond Winery.
Participating artists: Barbara Hildreth, BeauKnits, fiber arts; Bob Gullie, Jon Gernon, and Eric Laffer, Remsen Street Studios (upstairs in their gallery), multimedia arts; Devin Dascher, artist and musician; Herb Hyde, author; and Nicholas Walster, photographer.

Winter Figure Drawing

Figure drawing will resume starting on Monday January 10 from 6-9pm and will run the following dates: Jan 10, 17, 24, 31. The cost is $50. for 4 sessions. Those of you who have been to our studios know that the space is comfy, cozy and heated! We have new lights and coffee and tea. If your interested please contact Jon Gernon at: jongernon@gmail.com. Space is limited so please respond by December 23. Drop in’s will only be accepted if there is room, so please contact me the day before the group meets. Drop in rate is $15.

Resident Artist Space Available

We are currently looking for a new resident artist, writer or designer to join the Remsen Street Studios. The space will be available on January 1, 2011. Rent is $150 a month + 1 month deposit and we are looking for a one year commitment. Includes your own studio/ office space, shared gallery space, 24 hour access, heat, hot water, central air and private entrance. On street parking and parking lot across the street. The Remsen Street Studios is a fully functioning private art studio and gallery located at 188 Remsen Street, 2nd floor, Cohoes, NY. The studio has three working spaces with four artists: Jon Gernon, Mark Gregory, Robert Gullie and Erik Laffer and a 800 sq. ft art gallery.  Studio and Gallery hours are by appointment only. We currently have open house and exhibits several times a year. Please sign up to receive updates and info on events at the studio and from each artist from time to time.
